Located just 10kms from the city centre, racing has taken place at Leopardstown Racecourse

as far back as 1888. Featuring 23 race meetings annually, Leopardstown is proud host of the

Stan James Irish Gold Cup, Longines Irish Champions Weekend and the world renowned

Christmas Festival which takes place from Dec 26th – 29th. The success of the “Bulmers Live

at Leopardstown” summer racing and music series as seen acts such as The Human League,

The Boomtown Rats, The Charlatans and The Happy Mondays perform to crowds up to

10,000 people. Leopardstown Racecourse is easily accessible by road or public transport –

Leopardstown offers complimentary shuttle buses on racedays from/to the nearby

Sandyford Luas stop (Dublin’s light rail network). Other notable events include the annual

Student Day in April, Family Day in May and Friday Evening Racing in June.

Leopardstown Racecourse is currently undergoing a major redevelopment with the final

stage due to take place in 2017. The newly refurbished and rebranded 1888 Restaurant

opened for the Christmas Festival in 2015 in addition to Champions Bar (formerly Fillies

Restaurant) opening for Champions Weekend in 2015.
