Built as Ireland’s first purpose-built venue in 1821 for the visit of King George IV to Dublin, over the past two hundred years, The Round Room has welcomed royalty yet given birth to the Irish Republic as the venue for the inaugural Dáil Éireann in 1919. Its long and complex narrative mirrors the history of Dublin.
In the 1990s, after much investment, the venue opened its doors as a functioning event venue. Since then, thousands of guests, including many notable faces, have been welcomed through The famous Round Room gates.
Today the Round Room continues to be the venue of choice in Dublin, with no limit to how spectacular your event may be!
